My Students
Welcome to my teaching world!
I am a third-grade teacher in a specialized district that teaches students with a wide variety of disabilities.
My students are third graders who are autistic. My students need to be taught all concepts multiple times and in various ways, for them to learn a concept. The children must practice learned skills daily so they can maintain them. We are beginning to learn about financial literacy. We need play money, cash registers, and toys to help us get excited to LEARN more.
My Project
We use money in our lives everyday. My students need to learn about coins and dollar bills. We will focus on labeling pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Once this is accomplished we will move on to learning the value of each coin. Next, we will learn that 5 pennies are the same as one nickel. We will work on this to make sure each child is able to understand. Now, we will be able to have a store with a cash register and toys that children can sell and buy. The students will be motivated to learn the names of the coins and dollars by having toys they WANT to play with.
