My Project
My students are from rural, eastern Kentucky. When the coal mines started to close down, our area took a big hit and so did the schools and sports programs. Many of my students are from non-ideal home situations and/or foster care programs.
These wood bats would be used so that we could enter wood bat tournments in our area.
With the help of our Head Coach and other coaches, we are bringing baseball to an athletic key.
We plan to make a safe place for students to be when classroom time is over. The more time they spend with us playing baseball, the less time they spend in bad situations. This may be the one thing that breaks the cycle of drug use, crime, and poverty that these kids see every day. I thank you for considering our kids and school.
In our area, the income is very low, and the drug abuse is very high. My students need ways to stay at school where they are loved and cared for. Having the ability to protect our student's heads and brains during coaching situations is a must!
These tools will help us make plans for future improvements.
