Necessary Writing Tools

Help me give my students the necessary writing tools to assist my 2nd graders with independent writing. My students will need writing journals, independent brainstorming, prewriting, and rough draft folders.

My Students

My students are bright, active, and kind 2nd graders. They are up for some challenges and love to show a little about themselves individually. We are learning to become fluent readers, mathematicians, scientists and good listeners.

My class is a multilingual class with great diversity.

All the students are very inquisitive and have diverse needs. Our school is a small elementary school in the city of Los Angeles in the Los Angeles Unified School District. We have a diverse population and are multilingual English Language Learners.

My Project

These materials will allow me to give my students the extra tools to assist and scaffold writing strategies. The large post it paper, will help with whole group brainstorming and recording. The folders with prongs will be a folder for the students to brainstorm, pre-write and rough draft throughout the year independently.

These materials will help form independently writing skills all year long.

With guidance and scaffolding I will get my students to love to write freely and independently. The journals will prompt independent writing and journaling.Thank you for considering to help me in supporting my students.
