it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hard working, resilient and have big dreams for the future. They mostly come from low income households. Many of them are first generation Americans. Students last had class on campus on March 13, 2020. Learning from home is not ideal but it is necessary. It is too dangerous to return to campus any time soon.
My Project
It is not easy to convert a small space into a suitable teaching space. I bought a desk and assembled it, as well as rearranged all of my furniture to make it fit. Now I need the tools to help me be effective.
These materials will ensure that my students have a well-prepared teacher when school starts in August.
The chair is necessary for long hours of sitting at my desk. The headphones and mic are necessary for communicating with my students. The document camera is so important so I can show students documents via zoom from my laptop. The slant board will help me with concentration and my own reading, writing and learning. Lastly, the book will give me good tips to meet my students' needs.
