My Students

A typical day in our classroom consists of lots and lots of reading, both read aloud and students reading to themselves. I love to read a variety of different books with my class to help them grow a love for reading and learning.

My students are from low economic status and do not have a lot of hands on exposure to new things.

I try very hard to bring new ideas and adventures to my students through reading of books! I never want my students to miss out on things because of financial reasons, so I try to introduce them to free adventures through reading. My students love reading and are always searching for fun and interesting books.

My Project

The pencil sharpener is a need in our classroom for obvious reasons, to sharpen pencils! The books are a strong want to expose the students to new material. I ordered 5 books of each level so that students can read them in small groups and we can work together to increase their comprehension skills. Students in first grade are so hungry to learn new things and love to read new books and talk about different comprehension strategies they used while reading!

By donating to our project you will greatly impact students in my classroom and classes in the future.

The more books they are exposed to in a year, the more they will learn and grow. Students love to read new stories and will be exposed to new vocabulary and ideas through new books.
