This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic about learning. They are second language learners from low-income households who are excited about learning. They are in kindergarten and first grade. They are constantly amazed when learning about new things. They are beginning to read, write, add, and subtract. However, they are like little sponges when learning, new material. They can orally show what they're learning better than in writing. It's a wonderful experience to experience how much they have learned already this year!
My students enjoy taking library books home.
Parents read some of the books to them and the children read on their own as well.
My Project
Provide students with new backpacks to put homework folders, library books, and school supplies to and from school. These backpacks will helps students organize and take care of their materials and give them a sense of pride.
Students will also be able to take library books home and take good care of them in the backpacks.
They will enjoy reading them and having their parents read them to them as well. They will have nice looking backpacks that will make them feel ready for school and help improve attitude toward school.Students will no longer struggle to carry materials to and from school.
