Neat & Tidy: Every Book Needs a Home

Help me give my students tools to organize their Talbot Reader library! These shelves will help us keep our books organized and easy to find for students to borrow during the week.

My Students

As an enrichment facilitator across grades 6-8, I have the honor and privilege of helping my students explore what they are passionate about. When they come to me with ideas for projects, research, or career exploration, I get the chance to learn something new myself as we work together to forge a pathway to their end goal or product.

My favorite enrichment program is our accelerated readers, or the Talbot Readers, and their lunchtime book club.

They choose a novel, short story, or a series of poems to read each month. We meet twice a month to discuss the books, but they plan discussions or themed activities! These students love reading and discussing books. The passion and enthusiasm are palpable when we meet with them each month.

My Project

With so many books in our classroom library, we need a place to house them all. These bookshelves will help to keep our different sets of books together and ready for distribution for Talbot Readers.

With the large number of students coming through our Maker Studio each day, it will be imperative that everything has a proper place and the room is organized.

Returning to school in the fall will require us to pay more attention to keeping the space clean. In addition, lunchtime meetings can get messy, so having cleaning supplies on hand will be very helpful. It's important that we have a space that looks great and inviting, so the bulletin board border and tissues will help our students feel comfortable as we sit and discuss books.
