Help me give my students zipper binders to keep all of their work safely in one place.
FULLY FUNDED! Dr. Veerasammy's classroom raised $752

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school with very diverse learners. Today's students need more attention than ever. My students vary in learning styles, academic levels, behaviors, race, and economic level. All of my students have very unique needs, and learn very differently. I am constantly searching for ways to best help each and every child.
Our school is Bronx, New York and is one of thirty-seven elementary schools in New York City Geographic District 9.
It is a community school that serves about seven hundred students in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade.
My Project
The zipper binder will help to keep first grade students neatly organized, and prevent the spread of germs. Each student will receive their individual binder to store all of their work where it can be easily accessible. Students will learn how to keep their assignments in their own file sections.
These zipper binders will continue to enhance the democratic classroom that I strive to create.
My classroom is a place where my students are empowered to make decisions. Being organized and responsible is part of our core values. Students will have all of their resources in one designated area with these zipper binders which will help to increase student participation and engagement.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
