This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at my school struggle with writing so we have an intense forty-five-minute literacy block in hopes they will become better readers and writers! Students who are not working with me, work by themselves at their tables on writing. Students use loose-leaf paper to write their stories. Often students' work gets lost or gets crumbled in their areas. It is very hard to keep track of the progress of their writing!
If each student had a notebook and folders it would maximize student-learning time and maintain the student's attention and focus.
They would date each journal entry so their progress could easily be seen. The distractions would be minimal which would allow student learning time to maximize.
I would also be able to monitor the students working independently at their desks because I would see how much they accomplished each day!
