My Students

As my students begin class they can often be heard asking what special event we have for the day. They are eager to experience learning in a fun and interesting way. My first grade STEM magnet students are eager to participate in new and hands-on activities.

My young students are filled with wonder and joy as they learn something new each day.

Our school is a Title l school in an area where many of the students live in apartments and have limited financial resources. Many students have parents who work long hours and have to be in childcare or with babysitters. At home, they may not have the time or access to some of the opportunities they could get through school.

My Project

At the start of this year my first grade students will still not be eligible for a covid vaccine. This means we cannot share supplies or have community items. To make sure everyone can keep their own items neat and clean I would like 24 snap shut pencil boxes for the children. In addition I would like scented stickers as individual rewards to encourage students to keep doing their very best.

Part of First grade is learning how to stay organized and ready for school.

Since many of my students did not attend in person school in Kindergarten this is more important than eve.
