Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in the historic third ward of Houston, TX. My students are brilliant, outspoken, and eager to engage in hands-on learning! While most of my students face economic challenges, their classroom experiences should not be a reflection of financial hardships. My students deserve innovative practices, and we’re excited about DonorsChoose to help our dreams become a reality!

My Project

Nearpod is a wonderful resource that can be used for Science! With the use of interactive science activities, as well as virtual field trips Nearpod would be an instrumental tool in keeping students engaged in enriching activities. Since the funds and ability to participate in actual in person field trips this year will be virtually nonexistent due to the financial and health strain of COVID-19, enhanced digital tools are more important than ever for student engagement!

With a Nearpod gold membership, our class will have access to all Nearpod lessons without any additional cost.

This access will allow students to interact with the lessons at their own pace and demonstrate what they have learned by completing self-paced, differentiated, and interactive activities. More importantly, a gold subscription to Nearpod would allow for my students to engage in authentic digital learning that is tailored to meet their specific needs!
