Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in the heart of Brooklyn. My students represent a range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, with their diverse talents and gifts making them shine brighter than any darkness or hardships they have experienced in their lives, especially most recently as a result of COVID-19.

My classroom will serve as a vessel of hope and provide a nurturing environment that further promotes risk and at times moments of failure, only for students to further succeed thus afterwards.

My students are just beginning to discover who they truly are, as we tackle the concept of "identity," and discovery of who they want to be. This year will be their first year in Middle School and I want to make it one to remember!

My Project

These essential materials will help students on a day-to-day basis, providing comfort that they enter the classroom prepared and ready to begin their educational journey. These materials will be readily available for student use within the classroom, as well as to be provided in the home environment. Every child should be provided with an equitable learning opportunity and the funding of this project will provide my students with the tools and resources needed for them to continue to be safe and eager to continue their learning process within Middle School.
