This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from across the globe and face enormous challenges. We are a high poverty school and my students come from many backgrounds. Many are English learners and speak Spanish, Korean, Bengali, Tagalog, Russian, and more as their first language.
My students are a bright, motivated, and incredibly diverse group of middle school students.
I am inspired by their hard work and dedication to learning. In the face of challenges, they are resilient.
As a teacher, I want to inspire my students to persevere as they navigate growing up in Los Angeles during a pandemic.
My Project
Due to school closures, we have been doing distance learning since March 13. The school year will being distance learning. Currently, we use a variety of online platforms, including Zoom, to conduct live classes. Distance learning is a challenge and we look forward to being able to go back to the classroom.
A Magic Trackpad will wirelessly connect and help navigate an Apple iPad.
Distance learning requires students to meet virtually on Zoom and other platforms. As a teacher, being able to navigate our Zoom meetings, admit students, share my screen will be made so much easier with the Trackpad.
Technology is a part of our daily learning experience right now as we meet virtually. This piece will help us easily use our technology now and when we return to campus. This Trackpad will help easily connect to an iPad. When we return to school, we will be able to make use of this piece of equipment to create projects as well as present slide shows. It will be used for a long time to come!
