My Students

I teach in an inclusive Pre-K classroom. We have 20 students including Head Start, Pre-K Counts, and Special Needs. They are curious, creative and ready to be challenged! They love any hands on learning and would greatly benefit from more interactive tools. Each child brings their own gifts and challenges to our classroom. They require a variety of activities to meet their specific needs!

I would love to create a Nature Kitchen with loose parts.

Our center shares its outdoor space with a church. So, making our nature tools mobile is crucial!

My Project

We will use these materials to create a mobile Nature Kitchen with loose parts. This will enable us to provide the base materials for our children to explore nature on our playground. We can provide seasonal additions to make the kitchen more engaging!

Letting the students build and create with natural loose parts gives them opportunities to problem solve, regulate their emotions, and fall in love with nature.

Playing outside has proven to be an effective way to help children manage their emotions and make real connections to the world around them. Students ask more questions and are delighted at their discoveries.
