Nature Exploration Garden for Kindergarten Learning!
Help me give my students connecting to nature, we are looking for garden boxes, and soil for the boxes. along with bird feeders to bring nature to our outdoor classroom.
Nature connection in kindergarten is an important time to help children unplug and learn to connect to the world around them. We started this project with the students, to have a place to watch plants grow and produce flowers and food. Along with a way to provide resources to our community. We are a Title 1 school with many families struggling to provide for them. We hope to get the much-needed items like planter boxes, soil, bird feeders, bird baths, and many other items to increase the growth of our outdoor classroom. Not only would the garden help the kids with connection to nature it will also provide a quiet place for art and learning. Studies have shown that being grounded in nature helps with focus and concentration, along with playing and manipulating dirt helps with hand strength for writing. My students have loved the outdoor classroom and their curiosity about nature and learning is one of the biggest reasons this project has been taken on.
