This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are asking for your support with our outdoor learning classroom. We want to add windchimes (so we can listen to the wind) as it passes by our outdoor learning area. We want to learn how the sun can provide light during the night by using solar powered items such as lights for the pond, light on the bird feeders. With the yoga mats we can practice yoga in our outdoor classroom. Yoga is very important because it is shown to improve both physical and mental health. Yoga will improve focus, memory, self-esteem and academic performance and it will also improve classroom behavior and it can also reduce anxiety and stress in our young students.
The goal for this project is for the students to learn that everything in nature can be of beneficial use no matter how small or insignificant they might think it is.
For them to know that they have options for learning not only being inside using handheld devices or television.
My students are at an age when everything we teach them, they can learn and stay with them in their long-term memory. They like to learn more about science and how things work.
