This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our class, we are striving to support the needs of a highly underdeveloped student population into a more well rounded and diverse student group. Through in-school opera performances, trips to the OKC Symphony to highly innovative teaching methods customized to a specific student style of learning. Our students range from new students that don't speak any English to students that are high achieving.
We are a 100% Title I school with a very limited funding supply to meet the needs of 923 students.

My Project
With our exploration of Native America, we will open up a new world of beautiful people, culture, and experience to kids who don’t get out of Oklahoma City.
With this curriculum and instruments, these students will learn the Native American Culture, it’s history and how the flute came about they will even create their own songs.
Many of my students don’t leave the area they live in. With flutes, they can travel to other places without leaving our school.
It will open up a new world for these 100% free lunch students. Will you make it possible for these students to experience the World is Native American Flute?
