Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With a school in the middle of a downtown area, have converted a portion of a seldom-used corner of our campus into a native plant garden.
This tool shed will allow us to have a safe and secure space to store our shovels, containers, hoses, gloves, and other tools that we use in our native garden that is filled with sages and milkweeds for monarchs and other local pollinators!
Through their work in the garden, students learn about native plants and animals as well as gain valuable gardening and composting experiences.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
