National Park Visitor Centers

Help me give my students the supplies needed for our annual National Park Fair. Students become experts and create visitor centers for their parks using trifold display boards to share with community and our school.

My Project

Students immerse themselves into the world of a park ranger for one of our 63 National Parks. Research and collaboration culminate in the creation of a Visitor’s Center for their park. On the day of the presentations, school and families come to experience our parks through our expert Junior Rangers.

The heart of our visitor centers is the use of the trifold display boards.

Students organize their expertise to share by creating a visual masterpiece that compliments all their research. Students use markers and other media to create banners for each park. These are displayed in the hallway and welcome visitors to our experience.

I love to see my students gain knowledge and confidence with this project. Many are so excited that they can not wait to visit their park someday!
