This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a Title I school, meaning most of my students live at or below the federal poverty line. Additionally, 80% of our students are Hispanic and second language learners. These students are historically underrepresented in rigorous academics and I strive to create opportunities for everyone to be successful and display these skills.
Your donation will help support the opportunity for our students to compete in National History Day, by providing them with the necessary resources, especially for my students who cannot economically provide supplies for themselves.
All 7th graders research a historical topic of their choice, and create an exhibit display to present their research.
These resources will allow students to create exhibits they're proud of, and can present at National History Day to be competitive among their peers.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
