My Students

My students consist of 180 sixth-graders with a wide range of abilities and talents. Some of my students have autism, some have specific learning disabilities, some have emotional disabilities, some are gifted, and some are English Language Learners.

My classroom is like a kaleidoscope.

I have students from an array of backgrounds and experiences. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. I have students who speak only Mandarin, Portuguese, or Spanish at home. Each student is unique and special to me.

My Project

I love DonorsChoose.org and all the great items I am able to get for my students. This year we are enjoying our National Geographic Explorer magazine we receive each month.

I want to keep the Nat Geo Explorer magazines in good condition, so I am able to use them over and over again with each class.

These magazines have such great information that is not only relevant now but will be relevant for future students as well. I also want to ensure that all six classes are able to enjoy the magazines without being destroyed before they have a chance to read it.

By placing the classroom set of magazines in these plastic covers, they are much more likely to be taken care of and last for many years to come.
