My students need yoga mats to learn to live a healthy lifestyle and to be able to learn to self regulate and relieve stresses of the day in a healthy manner.

My Students

Active, eager, and busy would be the best way to describe the students in my class and school. As a Title 1 district in a low-income area a lot of our students do not get exposed to healthy habits in their home lives. As someone that loves fitness and tries to instill that desire in my students I am asking for some assistance.

A healthy lifestyle can encourage our students in our district to be more successful physically, emotionally, socially and academically.

My Project

I chose to ask for a class set of yoga mats that can be utilized by every class in our elementary school. We have over 400 students that will benefit from this project. The mats can be used in the classroom, P.E., or in our Multi Purpose Room that we use for inside recess days when there is inclement weather. Many of our students are not exposed to healthy lifestyles at home and this would be an opportunity to enable them to experience something new and different in their lives. Yoga is an excellent resource anyone can do at home or at school to help clear the mind and relax. This could benefit our students for many years to come!
