Help me give my students the tools to learn successfully in the classroom including sensory items to help regulate their bodies and Apple TV to help them learn through technology.
The students in my classroom are on the autism spectrum; the grades range from transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, first and second grade. Most of the students are verbal however, some of the students have limited to no verbal communication. It's amazing to see how far the students develop throughout the year when they are in my classroom. My job is so rewarding working with students who are on the autism spectrum.
Each student in the class is special in their own way and brings a smile to my face every day.
My students are creative, smart, fun and unique. The students are visual learners, and benefit from learning through technology. They enjoy learning through educational videos, music, educational games, social skills and building language.
My Project
These items will help my students self regulate their bodies while learning throughout the school day. The seat cushions, kick bands and chewy necklaces will help my students focus, and calm their bodies when they feel anxious, overwhelmed and over stimulated. The Apple TV will provide my students, a way to visually learn the academic content, through different learning modalities. The LCD writing boards are to help the students work on their fine motor skills. All these items will help my students succeed in the classroom.
My students may have a different way of learning and that makes them special and unique.
They should have a classroom that has the tools to help them succeed in their academic environment.
