My Project
Learning to tie shoes is a crucial life skill that promotes independence and motor skills development among all students, with particular significance for those with disabilities. Mastering this skill empowers students to handle a fundamental daily task on their own, fostering confidence and self-reliance. For students with disabilities, it serves as a vital step towards greater autonomy. Incentivizing this learning process with a nacho party not only makes the task more engaging and enjoyable but also provides positive reinforcement.
The reward not only recognizes their efforts but also creates a sense of achievement and celebration within the classroom, emphasizing that everyone's accomplishments, regardless of the challenges they may face, are worthy of acknowledgment and collective joy.
The materials in this project include the shoe-tying practice boards and the nachos to make this a reality for my students!
