Task bins are used for individual students to target specific skills. The task bins in my classroom address academic skills such as reinforcing mathematics, language arts, science and social studies. They also address social skills, life skills and vocational skills. With the diverse types of needs in my classroom, it is important to update and create new materials frequently. I am able to work on annual academic goals and transition goals using the work task bins. Work task bins help to build independence in students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In my Autistic Support classroom, we are in need of some new materials to create new work task bins and to update existing ones. In order to create lasting materials we need an abundance of lamination. We also use clothes pins in our work task bins to allow students to select certain answers. Many bins include sorting materials which require bins or ziplock bags to sort effectively. Any donation to this project will be greatly appreciated by me and my students.
