My Project
The students who will be benefiting from this project are so bright, kind, and amazing. They are in our special education program where they spend most of their day going between 4 special education teachers and learning different skills.
With this project, they will be learning about origin stories and making their own myths.
We will be seeing how different people around the world believed that our Earth was made. We will then create our own stories.
With this project, we are going to publish our writing by making our own paper (with recycled paper) for publishing. Lastly, we are going to make a vase (planter pot) that displays a scene from our writing.
We will use pitchers and jars to soak paper that will be recycled to blend together with the hand blender. Once it is blended together we will put it into a large tote with water to be strained out. After they are hung up to dry we will put it through a paper press to make sure they lay flat again. We will then stitch our pages together for a booklet. Students will use these booklets to publish their writing. Lately the students will get a pot to decorate with a scene from their myth.
