This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is a prekindergarten dual blended room consisting of both students with IEPs, as well as typically developing kiddos without IEPs. My kiddos are all ages three to five. Due to social distancing, I will have 10-12 students in each class instead of 15. Almost all of the students in our Title I school are from low-income households. My classroom will be the first school experience for the majority of my students and I want it to set the tone for their future education. Therefore, I do all that I can to make their experience one that is exciting and motivating for them.
At this time, our entire District is in remote learning.
When we are able to begin back face-to-face, I will have one class that will be remote (until at least January) and one class that will be hybrid.
My Project
Many of the items we use in our PreK room are created by myself or our speech therapist. The materials are then printed out and laminated for our kiddos to use.
This year, I am making individual binders with learning materials for my kiddos to be able to have at home.
Our printer is on its last legs. It is always jamming and makes a horrible racket! I have been printing more than usual and I am not sure it is going to make it through these binders! We need a new printer to be able to finish the materials for the beginning of the year and to add new materials as the year progresses.
I am asking for a new printer which uses the same ink cartridges as our old one so we can continue to use the ink we have already purchased.
