Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my dual language classroom, my students speak, read, and write in English and Spanish. They are sweet 3rd graders who often come from Hispanic backgrounds: Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, and China. My students are excited and enthusiastic about seeing their friends again after a full year of learning remotely.
"Once you learn to read, you will forever be free."
Along with being excited to see their friends again, they are excited to learn in school again! One of their favorite subjects is reading. The classroom library brightens up their eyes as they are looking forward to reading new 3rd grade books!
My Project
Oftentimes, students use ziplock bags to store their reading books. However, we all know those ziplock bags break, get wrinkly, and eventually, students need new ones. These tote bags are efficient and beautiful and will motivate the students to carry their reading books everywhere without worrying about their bags breaking or wrinkling. These totes will create a safe home for the students' books.
By donating to our project, you will help to improve my students' enthusiasm in reading their English and Spanish books.
After reading books online for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, help me bring a little joy to my students' lives by providing them with their own personal book baggies for their reading books.
