My Project
My students are always willing to try new and engaging activities. My school is a Title 1 school and most of my students come from low economic backgrounds, nearby housing projects and some even in shelters. They are always in need of school supplies and engaging games and activities to encourage them to come to school. I enjoy the teachable moments with them and love seeing them find new ways to get things done. Sometimes with a lack of resources, many activities cannot be completed to show their full potential and I would love to create a classroom environment for them.
My students are young innovators who always come up with "Out of the box ideas" but unable to complete tasks because there are no materials to make it fun.
With your help, I would be able to bridge the gap for my students to experience hands on activities everyday in my classroom. The pandemic has robbed them the many opportunities to go out on school trips to gain hands on experiences at the museums, farms, theaters, and so on. These are a bright bunch of first grade scholars who could benefit from the many resources, Kleenex tissues, paint, and bright colored paper, differentiated games, the timer to help them stay within the time frame and exercise community skills while they play charades and learn their sight words with use of play doh in their classroom.
