Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My amazing 3rd grade students are growing and learning in a small, tight-knit, established school where most have been attending since Kindergarten and have built strong fostering relationships with their peers, teachers and administrators. My students use multiple resources along with technology to enhance their learning experience.
They are critical thinkers, collaborators, creators, communicators, and dreamers.
They are my true inspiration and are our future! My vision is to give them a great start to their long-lasting love of learning.
My Project
Each student in my class DESERVES to be HEARD! With these handsets, my students will sharpen many important life skills! Each of my students has their own Chromebook. Once they finish a project or assignment, I give them the opportunity to present through the Chrome extension, Screencastify. This records their voice and screen while they share their project. However, without a handset plugged into their Chromebook, it is difficult to hear their voices when they record due to other productive activity happening concurrently in the classroom. These handsets will allow each student to be heard, help my students with presentation skills, encourage students to proofread their project prior to recording and gives their classmates and myself an opportunity to watch and hear them clearly! But, what I find most valuable is the opportunity for each student to self-reflect. Sometimes they'll re-record themselves over and over to create an even better presentation! These handsets will improve my students' presentation skills in many ways!
