My Project
My students receive occupational therapy to work on their functional school skills. Among these, handwriting is the skill most needed. The TV Teacher program has been invaluable in helping students focus, as it utilizes the evidence-based approach of video-modeling. Children with autism and other learning challenges have been found to experience lower stress when following along with video instruction. This approach removes the pressure to make eye contact with a teacher. The students feel more centered and intuitively follow along with the video instruction. The students request the TV Teacher videos, which we have been utilizing for years. They acquire the ability to form letters and words, which would have been so much more difficult without the video accommodation.
We fortunately have online access to TV Teacher's upper and lowercase letters, as well as the strokes, shapes, and scenes segments.
To complete the students' curriculum, we require access to Number Beats, Let's Draw, and Fun Foundations. We look forward to this access, which will take us much further in accomplishing the students' occupational therapy goals. Thank you so much for your support!!!
