This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am a 6th-grade special education teacher at WMS. I work with some pretty amazing kids who sometimes struggle with what some may consider simple everyday needs.
Being on the 6th grade hall, I am privileged to continue relationships with students inside the building throughout 8th grade because they simply make their way back to my classroom.
I am known to be a teacher who is firm but loving. When they are hungry, they find me. When they need supplies, they find me. When they just need a hug or encouraging words, they find me. I love that they feel like they can depend on me.
With this project, it will help ensure that they have pencils and paper. I will have a place to store cold water for them and even keep snacks for when they get hungry.
Lysol and Clorox Wipes will help alleviate the spread of germs throughout my classroom. Many of my students don't bring these items at the beginning of the year, so we as teachers have to purchase these items out of our own pockets. Your donation will help us greatly.
Thanks for considering to Appreciate Us this year.
