Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating facilitates a classroom environment that is inviting, comfortable and warm. Students feel safe and at ease with flexible seating. This comfort allows them to focus on the tasks at hand and improves their learning greatly.
Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
Engagement skyrockets when students enjoy their learning environment! Our students are candidates for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). This incredibly rigorous program requires a lot of critical thinking, analysis, writing, and reading. These students are inspiring hard workers and deserve a comfortable learning environment.
Our current desks are horribly uncomfortable. They are stiff and rigid. With our long block periods (88 min.), our current chairs are distracting. The products that I have selected, including chairs and bean bags, will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and demeanor, and I hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
