My Students Will Be Flipping Out Over Their Reading!

My students need a Flip Cam to support and encourage them to practice their reading.

I'll have my students begging me even more to practice their reading with this handy new device!

I teach in a small, urban school of approximately 250 students.

About sixty percent of my twenty-one students are on free and reduced lunch and about forty percent are learning English as a second language. They are very eager beavers and love to learn.

My Project

One strategy that I have found that supports the development of reading skills, especially reading fluency, is Reader's Theater. My students beg me to read from these scripts often and it is having a tremendous impact on their reading development. We have had many shows for parents thus far this year, but I always have a few disappointed students when their parents are unable to attend. A Flip Cam will allow me to easily record their performances and quickly share them, not only with the class, but also with the parents. Thus, my problem is solved, no more disappointed students and parents!

Your support of this project will allow me to purchase a Flip Cam to record our Reader's Theater performances.

Having the performances recorded will allow me to have a better means for sharing these valuable shows with all involved!
