This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students could not imagine having their own ball during skill practice. They are so used to sharing and waiting a long time for their turn.
My students are well behaved kids from the city.
The majority of my students do not participate in any extracurricular movement programs. Therefore, there only time to learn and practice skills is during my Physical Education class. I would like to give them the same opportunities that their suburban peers receive.
My Project
The basketballs are made from safe material that will allow all my students to participate without being scared of the ball. They will learn how to dribble, pass and shoot.
Junior Bonker Ball allows you to play up to 6 softball games simultaneously, quickly and safely on a basketball court. Many of my students never used a bat before and I would love to incorporate a fun baseball/softball type game in my program.
I want my students to learn all the skills necessary in their developmental appropriate range.
I believe that the skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, catching and striking a ball with a bat are very important in the elementary level which is the foundation of learning movement so they will be able to enjoy movement for the rest of their lives because they will fell confident when they have mastered these skills.
