My students need ballet barres to further their knowledge of dance and improve flexibility and strength.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Clark's classroom raised $990
This project is fully funded
I teach dance and drama to all students first through fifth grade. There are over 600 students in my room. This is the 2nd year for this program and I am still trying to get all the materials I need. We are a school of poverty and have close to zero funds to buy supplies. We will officially become a school of the arts the fall of 2010.
I am slowly building our dance supplies at our school. It is very hard when we have no funds from the school system. All of the students in the school love coming to dance and drama. They even enjoy our BALLET segment! Last year we had to use the walls as our ballet barre. This did not work AT ALL.
We are in need of two barres for the classroom. Each class has at least 25 students so we need as much room as possible to put the students. The barres would be used every class to stretch and strengthen our muscles. There are 5 classes a day 5 times a week. These barres would be used for at least 20 minutes of every class. They will get A LOT of use.
Right now our students have nothing to hold on to for support and balance when we do our opening stretches and strengthening routines. Barres would ensure proper alignment when doing our routines. Without your help we will not be able to have barres for our dance class. We need your help to make our ordinary room look like and function like a dance studio!
