My Students

My students have special needs with mild mental disabilities. I see my students for Math and Language Arts. They are all below grade level and some lack life skills they will need to thrive. They are sweet and cope well to mask their disabilities, but their ability levels are significantly delayed.

Since they are battling mild mental disabilities, Autism, ADHD, and working memory issues, my students benefit from tactile involvement with their instruction.

My students are the sweetest, most loving kids who try their hardest despite their setbacks. They are so excited about each new toy I introduce into my classroom. It truly motivates them to work harder.

My Project

I currently have small whiteboards that students love to use to participate in instruction, but they are old and the dry erase marker won't wipe off the boards anymore.

My students have different learning styles that require kinesthetic, visual, and reading/writing instruction.

To support these needs, my students benefit from individual whiteboards with markers. Markers and whiteboards are such a huge motivator for my students and getting them involved and participating in instruction is often a challenge. I'm hoping with these new whiteboards, markers, and erasers, my students will continue participating during instruction with the excitement of fresh new tools!
