Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help provide my students with much needed supplies. Dry erase white boards are a perfect way for students to show their thinking as they learn. During our reading workshop and math workshop, students can use these white boards to practice during the mini-lesson, which will give them a chance to "try it on their own" while still in the guided-practice part of our learning workshops. And these white boards will be useful in other subjects too!

All students should have basic supplies to be and feel their best at school.

While the white boards will be an exciting addition to our lessons, crayons and pencil pouches will ensure that students have supplies they need, even if is a struggle for their families to provide them. Students use crayons daily, not just in their work, but also for creative activities.

Play-Doh and tools are a fun way to start the first day of school for nervous students! Our class uses Play-Doh for learning, for free time, and it is often a favorite reward for whole class behavior. I like to provide this activity because I remember Play-Doh from my childhood, and I want my kids to make memories of fun and creativity at school.

Mrs. Ramirez will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by September 12.
