My second-grade students are learning how to understand their emotions and how to react to the world around them. We talk about how to use our words when speaking with others and to not let their emotions take over when they get mad or sad. In class, we also talk about how we are in charge of our actions and not those around us. But even with all these lessons I try to teach them daily, lessons I hope they take with them into the real world someday, there are times when students are just so angry that they take it out on others with their words or hands.
I would like to get punching bags to have in class so students, who need it, can take out their frustrations on an object and not each other.
