For the project My Students LOVE Programming Microcontrollers, I am asking for funding for 5 Circuit Playgrounds and 5 more Micro:bit microcontrollers. These are small electronic devices that can be programmed using simple block coding to run a variety of things such as small motors and lights. They have onboard sensors to measure light, sound, and motion as well as some buttons.
My students love programming these Circuit Playgrounds and Micro:Bit microcontrollers so much that I don't have enough for all the kids who come after school to program them.
It's a great problem to have, but we do need more of these incredible engaging devices to program. My students have several projects they are working on from light up clothing to programmed warning lights.
