This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating has always been an important component in my classroom. It allows students to make choices as to where they would like to sit and allows opportunities for them to release any stress or anxieties they might have. It allows them freedom to move around our classroom and have access different locations that can help them focus on their individual activities. I have several students who struggle to sit still for extended periods at their desks and often times need a break from their desks. Many of my students also choose to sit on the ground with their laptops (at the end of the day, they are exhausted from sitting on their chairs all day). Unfortunately, two of our classroom laptops have broken because others didn't see it on the ground and accidentally stepped on the laptops.
Introducing flexible seating could greatly benefit my students by providing them with alternative seating arrangements that cater to their individual needs and help enhance their focus and comfort during lessons.
The materials I am asking for are accessible to all my students. They can easily move it around the classroom without any problem. It would also keep our classroom tools (laptops) safe from horrible damage!
