This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My awesome students are a diverse mix of at-risk 4th graders ready to learn each day. Not only is our school in the middle of a struggling city, many of my students face day-to-day challenges that make it difficult for them to get to school or focus when they arrive.
Wanting to learn and staying focused is a challenge for many of my students.
They want to have fun and use technology while they learn. Learning at school should not be a challenge. As a teacher, my ability to deliver engaging lessons should not be a challenge either, but it is.
My Project
A projector in our classroom will make a world of difference in how I deliver instruction to my students and how much more focused they will be. I came from schools that had Smartboards, and to be able to project what I am teaching is a big thing.
Students are much more focused and excited about what is going on, when they can see it.
They will also be able to interact and move around by coming up to the board to click on or write answers to questions as they are projected on the whiteboard. Educational videos from Brainpop and Flocabulary will come to life. I can see their excitement already!
