My Students

This is O’Dell Elementary’s first year in the Celina Independent School District. Our school serves students in grades one through five and is made up of fantastic students and dedicated teachers. Our students work very hard and consistently earn top scores on the state assessment.

Our fourth grade is composed of eighty-two wonderful students, many of whom are socioeconomically disadvantaged.

I am the sole math teacher for fourth grade and enjoy seeing my students learn through discovery, technology, and innovation. My students experience hands on learning using a variety of manipulatives and project based learning. They are the future leaders of our society and I want to give them the best possible foundation on which to build their reasoning and problem solving skills.

My Project

The future of our world today is driven by technology. In order to excel in the workplace of the future, students must have technology in their hands today.

iPads would meet the learning styles of students who do not do well or are bored by routine paper and pencil tasks.

If we want our students to be successful in the future, we must provide them with the necessary tools today.

I plan to use these iPads in centers so that small groups of students can use them to practice math facts, as well as engage in meaningful problem solving scenarios and activities.
