My Students

Our school is located in the Power Zone in District 49 in Colorado Springs, CO! Students benefit from parents that are dedicated to putting their child's education above all else. Our young learners are already preparing to use innovative ideas and strong ethical values to be college or career ready!

My Kinder cuties are full of life, wonder, and rowdy exploration!

Each morning they rush into our classroom excited for what the day will hold! I wonder if they know how much they are learning. My students are five and six years old and ready to take on the world!

I believe that teachers have the power to make the world a better place one encouraging thumbs up, one heart-felt "So happy to see you", one creative lesson, one student at a time! My young friends are working hard on early math and literacy skills while also learning and developing crucial social skills. I must teach both ends of the spectrum with equal importance.

My Project

The resource that we are needing for our classroom is a large carpet time activity rug. An activity rug has many useful purposes! When a student knows where they are expected to be because of established rules and procedures quick transitions allow for more instruction and learning time!

A Circle Time rug becomes the center of our classroom community!

Social development skills are critical to develop in our youngest learners in order to ensure a well-rounded person aware of other's feelings and thoughts. Carpet Time is where young learners practice waiting their turn, asking meaningful questions, and listening with intent!

In our classroom, we ALL have a SPECIAL SPOT. A sense of belonging is created when a child can visually see their place amongst the bustle of an early childhood classroom. I use this analogy in many lessons throughout the year. This is where we become good friends and learn how special we each are.
