My Second Language Journey

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students earn an associate's degree at the same time they earn their high school diploma. Students are enrolled for 4 years and summers taking both, college classes (60 credit hours) and high school requirements. We are a Blue Ribbon School, since our students are high achieving students transferring to major universities in Texas, and other states and international schools.

My Project

Due to Covid restrictions and remote learning needs, working with Promethean Boards paired with laptops only excludes students' opportunities to interact independently during classroom instruction. Instead, students will use Ipad alone with the interactive pen to provide input and access different types of written and oral activities required for the course.

Using Ipad with interactive pens allows students to avoid paper and promotes better engagement among students during written activities in foreign language settings.

In addition, both items can be sanitized easily every time students use them. Students can make video recordings and edit real-time interactions using technology.
