My Students

My students are hard-working boys and girls who maintain high expectations through testing and behavior. Additionally, they learn their curriculum in English AND Spanish which can be fun but very strenuous and requires focus.

Students in my classroom come from various backgrounds and use this as a form to make connections among themselves.

Regardless of their home life, culture, or experiences, all of my students make an effort to grow and learn. Above all, students spend their entire day together in my class and are a blended family.

My Project

Having a warm and bright colored rug will allow my students a place to gather for interactive read-aloud, shared reading, and Socratic circles. It will also provide a space for class meetings, where students can feel comfortable enough to discuss not only academic-related information, but as well, feel comfortable enough to be fully engaged, and available to make learning applicable to themselves. Having a space to gather as a class will provide a designated area to continue our feeling and motto of community. As well, this will allow me the opportunity to enhance trust with my students as it will naturally involve seating at eye level where we can converse, share, and learn.
