This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are kicking off being readers! They are quickly picking up the code and art of reading. The enjoy being gifted books to look for the phonics skills they have learned.

I plan to build them fluency books where they read short stories based on the phonics skills they have mastered and draw their own pictures to match the short passage.

These stories will be for my students to work on at their own pace with their families to promote the love of reading at home. I look forward to my students sharing their drawings as a reflection of their comprehension.
