My Own Learning Spot

My students need a clean, designated learning spot for large group learning and morning meeting time.

My Students

My students attend a Title I School in Oklahoma. We have a student population of 700+ with a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. They come from large, single-parent families. This is the first time for most of them to be in school. They love school and the stability it provides. They come to school every day excited and ready to learn. They are ready to keep up with their peers and excel in their learning. My students will overcome any obstacle put in their paths!

My Project

I would like to purchase a large classroom rug. This rug seats 30 students. My 29 kindergarten students are currently squished on an old hand-me-down rug from the library. I have purchased several non-commercial rugs that needed to be removed for safety reasons. This commercial rug will not curl and trip students.

This clean and colorful rug will give students space to learn.

We spend more than half of our full-day kindergarten class on the floor. Morning meeting, large group activities, story time and math games are done on the floor. We need this carpet to learn and be comfortable in our learning home.
