My students need chapter books to fill our classroom library. I want to expose them to both fiction and non-fiction text, with a variety of characters and topics that will both interest and entertain them!

My Students

I am new 4th grade teacher, and I'm in desperate need of chapter books! These children all come from low income homes, and their life outside of school can be very challenging. I love teaching because it allows me to become their cheerleader, and ensure they understand that despite their obstacles, they can succeed and become anything they set their minds to!

I will provide small group instruction, which allows me to really get to know the students and their learning styles.

I love when lessons "click," and seeing their love of reading develop!

My Project

These chapter books will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library will be a place that my students can access daily to read independently. Every student book that is placed in my library will be treated with love and care. All of these books have been chosen specifically with my students in mind. With a well-stocked library, students will be able to forget about problems they may face outside school walls, and lose themselves in stories of fantasy or fairy tale.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of genres that will allow them to read independently at their own level and interest.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read frequently, and these books will help my students grow in confidence and stamina.
