This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"I don't have a marker!" "My marker doesn't work!"
Unfortunately, these are things that I hear everyday as my students are getting out their whiteboards and dry erase markers to start our math class. We are running low on supplies and could use your help!
My 47 students are very eager to learn and thoroughly enjoy using whiteboards and dry erase markers to express their knowledge.
Most of my students brought dry erase markers to class at the beginning of the school year as part of completing their school supply list. However, several students were not able to bring in supplies due to lack of funds. We are over halfway through the school year and are running VERY low on dry erase markers.
My Project
My students use dry erase markers every single day in math class. We start with a few warm up questions and the students work out the problem on their boards and then hold them up to reveal the answer. We then go over the problem together as a class. Using whiteboards and dry erase markers is a quick and easy way for the students to be engaged and to show what they know. They have much more fun writing with dry erase markers than writing with a pencil.
By receiving your donations, we will be able to have enough dry erase markers for every student to use daily and will no longer have to worry about a lack of supplies.
We may even have enough to share with future students!
